Protocol on cooperation between UNODC and RATS SCO signed in Almaty
Signing of cooperation protocol between SCO Regional
Anti-Terrorist Centre and the UN Office for Drugs and Crime is held in Almaty
on Friday.
The document signed by director of SCO RATS Executive Committee Dzhenisbek Dzhumanbekov and UNODC representative Dolga Salonga during the third expert meeting on implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia.
The document is intended to deepen cooperation in the fight against terrorism on several fronts - the joint determination of needs of SCO member countries in combating terrorism, exchange of analytical, educational materials, expert knowledge, technical assistance to countries of SCO, said D. Salonga at a briefing after the signing ceremony.
In his turn, Dzhumanbekov noted that the signing of this protocol once again underlines that terrorism has no borders, nationality and religion. "Terrorism is the evil against which we all must fight together", he said.
