Speaker of the Parliament asks Prime Minister to cancel the seasonal customs duties on import of flour to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 26 / Kabar /. Due to the increase in flour prices in Kyrgyzstan, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Asylbek Jeenbekov today sent a letter to Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov.

The press service of the Parliament reports that, the Jogorku Kenesh approved on April 25, 2012 a draft resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on introducing seasonal customs duties on import of wheat flour with the terms that the price of flour will not be increased by producers. The Government was instructed to take measures to prevent price increases for flour as well as to conduct permanent monitoring of price of this product.

"Unfortunately, last week the cost of flour and bread in the country has increased dramatically", says in the letter, citing data from the National Statistics Committee. In this connection, Speaker A. Jeenbekov addressed to the Prime Minister to cancel the above-mentioned resolution of the Government of the KR and inform the Jogorku Kenesh on the results.
