U.S. Government provided $200,000 for the National Immunization Campaign against Poliomyelitis in Kyrgyzstan
Ambassador Gfoeller announced the launch of the campaign at a press conference on July 16, 2010. Vaccinations will be held in July and August free of charge and available for every child under the age of five.
“We hope that $200,000 from American people to Kyrgyzstan will help in the prevention of a polio attack in the country and the region”, Ambassador Tatiana Gfoeller noted at the press-conference. She also appealed to the Kyrgyz media: “We need your help to make this Campaign a national success...Parents must know the importance of getting their children fully vaccinated and they must know where they can go to receive the vaccinations.”
