World Bank allocates $ 1 million to Kyrgyzstan to improve national policy on mental health

Bishkek, March 15 / Kabar /. The World Bank allocates $ 1 million to Kyrgyzstan to improve the national policy on mental health.

The press service of the Ministry of Health of the KR reports that, the Health Ministry developed a draft action plan for the component "community-based activities in the field of mental health" with the purpose to introduce international practices in treatment of mental illness on the basis of primary medical aid.  
The World Bank allocated 1 million dollars to implement the project as additional funding.
This plan is approved at a roundtable by the World Bank representatives, WHO Euro experts on mental health, , Mandatory Health Insurance Fund under the Kyrgyz Government, members of the National Centre for Mental Health, Department of Psychiatry faculty of the Kyrgyz Medical Academy, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavonic University and a number of NGOs working in the field of mental health.

The developed action plan is aimed at improving the national policy on mental health, improving the quality of psychiatric care.
