Smuggler shot dead border guard at frontier post in Batken oblast
Bishkek, February 13/ Kabar /. As a result of incident at frontier post in Batken oblast on February 12, 2012 deputy chief of the frontier post "Samarkandyk" for combat training, lieutenant Kanat Duyshenaliev died.
According to information of the public relations department of the Border Troops of the Kyrgyz Republic, at 14.00 pm a border detail stopped a truck "Hyundai-Porter" loaded with coal to check documents, which was directed towards the Republic of Tajikistan. In response to the demand of the border guard to show documents a passenger of the truck, Kyrgyz citizen, resident of the village of Samarkandyk A. Kalbaev began to insult the border detail. At this moment the driver blocked the road by vehicle, stopping passing cars.
Civilians have started to gather at the place of incident, who behaved aggressively towards the border guards. Chief of the frontier post "Samarkandyk" arrived in connection with the situation. He started to calm the gathered people. The group of civilians surrounded the border officer. At this time A. Kalbaev seized a weapon, fired a shot into the air and then fired in the direction of the border guards. As a result, lieutenant K. Duyshenaliev was wounded and later died in hospital from received injuries.
A. Kalbaev and driver of the vehicle - citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan are arrested. A criminal case is initiated and investigation is underway.
