Prosecutor General A. Salyanova: "Georgia refused to extradite Oksana Malevanaya"
Bishkek, May 23 / Kabar /. Georgia has refused to extradite Oksana Malevanaya. Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Salyanova told today during a plenary session of the Parliament.
She said that the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Kyrgyzstan sent a request to the Prosecutor General of Georgia to confirm information about stay of O. Malevanaya in this state. "The Prosecutor General of Georgia answered on April 16, 2012 that O. Malevanaya appealed to the competent authorities of Georgia to obtain refugee status in accordance with the law of this country and international law prevents her extradition to Kyrgyzstan", said A. Salyanova.
Former Presidential Administration Chief Oksana Malevanaya is on the international wanted list on charges of mass killings of peaceful demonstrators April 7, 2010 in Bishkek.
