Ravshan Sabirov’s lawyer will submit an appeal to change the preventive measure to his client
Bishkek, July 9 / Askat Turusbekov - Kabar /. Minister for Social Development Ravshan Sabirov’s lawyer Kuvanychbek Tashbaltaev intends to file an appeal to the Bishkek City Court to change the preventive measure to his client.
The lawyer said at today’s press conference in Bishkek that, the decision of the Pervomaisky district court of Bishkek on placement in detention of R. Sabirov is groundless. "The court made this decision only on the basis of petition of the investigation, which apart from the words of the assistant of the Minister has no other arguments", K. Tashbaltaev said.
Minister of Social Development of Kyrgyzstan R. Sabirov was detained as a suspect on this criminal case and placed to jail of the National Security Committee on July 5, 2012.
As previously reported, on July 4 2012, R. Sabirov’s assistant was detained by the National Security Committee officers while taking of a bribe $ 10 thousand.
According to data of investigators, the minister’s assistant extorted $ 20 thousand to solve the issue on granting accreditation to a foreign company to work in the field of international adoption of children in Kyrgyzstan.
Public Prosecutor's Office instituted criminal proceedings on the fact of extortion of bribe.
During the investigation, the assistant of the Minister said that on the order of his leader, he received twice from a representative of a foreign company money. On June 30, 2012, he received $ 5 thousand, which he gave the minister, as well as on July 4, 2012 he received $ 10 thousand, which was found with at the moment of detention.
