Bishkek, February 8 / Kabar /. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Asilbek Jeenbekov met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Tajikistan Asomudin Saidov.
"Kyrgyz and Tajik peoples have always been in friendly relationship. A close neighbor is better than a remote kinsman", said the Speaker welcoming the Ambassador.
The Tajik Ambassador congratulated A. Jeenbekov on his election as speaker of the Parliament. A. Saidov noted the importance of further cooperation between the Parliaments of both countries.
"It would be nice if we have suspended construction work until demarcation and delimitation of the disputed areas on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border completed", said A. Saidov.
A. Jeenbekov noted slowness of solution of border issues. "Kyrgyzstan has prepared a draft to clarify disputed areas and had sent it to the Tajik side three years ago. We have not received a response. If you can help with the answer, the delimitation and demarcation process would go faster", said the Kyrgyz Speaker.
