Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Austria discussed expansion of bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, February 17 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Vice Chancellor and Foreign Affairs Minister Michael Spindelegger.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues of political development in Kyrgyzstan, conducting of meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. The possibility of establishment relationship between parliamentarians of both countries, as well as mutual visits at various levels, the press service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the KR reports was discussed at the meeting as well.

In connection with the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Austria the sides also discussed the issues of conducting the Days of Culture of the two countries, joint scientific conferences, etc.

The Foreign Ministers expressed their readiness to continue cooperation and exchange mutual visits during 2012 and conducting inter-ministerial consultations and regular meeting of the Joint Kyrgyz-Austrian Commission on Economic Affairs in Vienna.

The Austrian side expressed readiness to contribute further in development and strengthening of democratic processes in Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting was held within the framework of the R. Kazakbaev’s participation in the Third Ministerial Conference of the Paris Pact Initiative on combating the Afghan illicit opiate trade.
