Kyrgyz FM met with OSCE Secretary General
Bishkek, February 17 / Kabar /. Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstans Ruslan Kazakbaev met with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier in the Austrian capital.
According to the information of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the KR, the meeting discussed issues of cooperation with Afghanistan, the need and importance of participation of Central Asian countries in solving the Afghan problem. The foreign minister expressed his willingness to cooperate on educational programs for students of Afghanistan, training customs personnel, as well as within the framework of regional projects that will contribute to the restoration and further development of this country. In this regard R. Kazakbaev proposed to develop the concept of regional cooperation with Afghanistan after 2014.
The sides exchanged views on further implementation of the Public Safety Initiative. It was proposed to extend the project in the form of reforming law enforcement bodies of Kyrgyzstan, including the judiciary system and support for anti-corruption service.
During the meeting they discussed the possibility of organizing a joint visit by the UN, OSCE and EU to Kyrgyzstan to discuss the country's political development as well as visit of director of the Center for Conflict Prevention of the OSCE Secretariat and experts from the OSCE ODIHR on electoral issues.
The meeting also discussed the current presidency of Kyrgyzstan in the Security Cooperation Forum.
