A.Sariev: Kyrgyzstan’s CEC is keeping with the schedule of conducting the referendum
KABAR, June 10. The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kyrgyzstan is keeping up with the scheduled of conducting the upcoming referendum. Head of the CEC Akylbek Sariev told it at a press conference at the “Kabar” News Agency. In A.Sariev’s words, according to the republic’s legislation, three or four months should be given to prepare and conduct the referendum: “However, we got only two months for preparation of the referendum as a result of the April events”. He told the CEC’s new staff approved a legal status of the department within a month. It is accredited 47 people as international observers. The nation-wide referendum will take place n June 27 and the parliamentary election on October 10.
