Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament received delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey
Bishkek, May 14 / Kabar /. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Asylbek Jeenbekov today received a delegation from the Turkish Grand National Assembly, headed by the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Volkan Bozkır.
MPs Assia Sasykbaeva, Chynybay Tursunbekov, Almazbek Baatyrbekov and Kenjebek Bokoev also attended the meeting, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reports.
In his welcoming speech A. Jeenbekov congratulated the delegation of Turkey on the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. "Turkey was the first to recognize the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, the relationship between our nations has been strengthening every year", said the Speaker and stressed that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to development of relations with Turkey.
Concerning the inter-parliamentary relations, A. Jeenbekov noted that Kyrgyzstan is making its first steps in developing parliamentary democracy and the Turkish experience in this area is of great importance for the Kyrgyz side. He noted the need to intensify exchange of experience in the development of parliamentarism.
V. Bozkyr thanked A. Jeenbekov for the meeting and said that Turkey supports reforms in Kyrgyzstan and expressed confidence in their success.
At the meeting the sides noted the successful joint projects in humanitarian field and the need to intensify cooperation in trade and economic sphere.
The sides expressed their readiness to actively cooperate for the development of relations between the two countries and parliaments of both countries.
