President Atambaev received the Turkish parliamentary delegation
Bishkek, May 14 / Kabar /. President Almazbek Atambaev received a delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey headed by Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Volkan Bozkır. The Information Policy Department of the Kyrgyz President’s Office reports.
The Kyrgyz President noted that relations between the two countries are developing dynamically. In August, official visit of President of Turkey to Kyrgyzstan is scheduled, the Supreme Council of the strategic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey is slated for autumn. The third meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries will be held in June and in August the summit of Turkic speaking countries. This should be an important event of Turkic-speaking world. During these events, Kyrgyzstan will take the presidency in these organizations.
"First of all, I would like to emphasize that the relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey are at a high level. In this context, your visit is seen as the good will of the Parliament of Turkey to support the strengthening of parliamentarism in Kyrgyzstan", said A. Atambaev.
Volkan Bozkır informed the President that the agreement on writing off Kyrgyzstan’s debt in the amount of U.S. $ 51 million is approved by the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Parliament and is submitted for consideration at a plenary session. The agreement will be ratified by the Parliament of Turkey in the near future.
"We consider that it is important to develop inter-parliamentary relations. For this purpose, in the near future we expect in Turkey colleagues from the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic", noted the Turkish MP.
