USAID transfers teaching and learning materials to district education departments
Bishkek, April 18 / Kabar/. On April 19, 2012, the United States Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Quality Learning Project (‘Sapattuu Bilim’), will distribute teaching materials developed in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Kyrgyz Academy of Education at a conference designed to demonstrate the new materials. Minister of Education Kanat Sadykov, USAID Kyrgyz Republic Country Representative Carey Gordon, and the Education Departments of Bishkek, Chui, and Talas provinces will participate in the event. The event will be held at the Ministry of Education’s Conference Hall.
The Quality Learning Project will present methodological materials to school administrators and representatives of district Education Boards. These materials include teaching manuals, instructions on student assessment, mentoring guides, monitoring suggestions, and school management and leadership guides. On April 19-28, 2012, similar events will be conducted in Cholpon-Ata, Osh, and Jalalabad cities for Rayon Education Department officials. The distribution of teaching materials will reach all schools in the Kyrgyz Republic before the start of the upcoming academic year.
The USAID Quality Learning Project has been working closely with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Kyrgyz Academy of Education to improve the quality of basic education in the Kyrgyz Republic since 2008 by strengthening the capacity of administrators, offering training programs, and improving the professionalism of teachers.
