The 7th International Festival of Culture "Oimo-2012" started in Kyrgyzstan
Bishkek, July 24 / Kabar /. The 7th International Festival of Culture "Oimo - 2012" started today in Bishkek.
According to information of organizers of the event, the goal of the Festival is to support workmanship, international tourism and folk traditions, promote Kyrgyzstan as an area of intercultural dialogue, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between nations.
Seller of figuline Jumagul, today the national products are of interest not only of foreigners. "Before, we were waiting for tourists from abroad and now local people often buy magnets from clay pots and other products. Mostly guests from Kazakhstan and Russia like domestic products of Kyrgyzstan", he said.
Marie, the guest from France says that, Kyrgyz pictures look like a little story. "We really like these pictures, when I look at these pictures, I think some kind of story. For instance, this boy with the horse, it seems to me that they will rush rapidly", said the guest of the festival.
More than 100 artisans from Central Asia, Turkey, India, Afghanistan, Altai and other countries will display their handicraft products in Cholpon-Ata. Natural silk of Margelan masters, famous Rishtan ceramics from Uzbekistan and interesting ceramic items produced by Kyrgyz potters from Bishkek and Osh, diverse felt items from various oblasts of Kyrgyzstan, silver jewelleries from Kazakhstan, ketene natural fabrics from Turkmenistan, traditional embroideries from Tajikistan and many other handicraft products are very popular among visitors.
Organizers of the Festival are the Central Asian Crafts Support Association’s Resource Centre in Kyrgyzstan (CACSARC-kg), Tolomush Okeyev Foundation, Central Asian Culture and Arts Net and Ministry of Culture and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to organizers, the aim of the festival is - the maintenance crafts, international tourism and folklore traditions, promoting the Kyrgyz Republic as a regional area of active inter-cultural dialogue, strengthening friendship and understanding between nations.
