NGOs struggling with HIV discussed issues of cooperation with management group of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis
Bishkek, February 2 / Kabar /. Representatives of civil society and management groups of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria of UNDP met in Bishkek in the UN House.
The meeting was chaired by the United Nations Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Alexander Avanesov. The event was attended by more than 50 people, including representatives of five main networks of NGOs working in key areas.
The main purpose of the meeting was to establish consensus and strengthening cooperation in implementation of activities under the grant on AIDS component.
During the meeting the participants discussed issues of expansion of service packages, especially access to legal assistance for various groups.
As a result of meeting a page on the site of the Country Coordinating Mechanism on HIV / AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (www.aids.gov.kg) was decided to open. Besides, the participants of the meeting decided to conduct such meetings systematically.
