The CPAP was signed between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and UNFPA

Bishkek, February 22 / Kabar /. The Country Programme Action Plan for 2012-2016 years between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) were signed in Bishkek.

UNFPA has worked in Kyrgyzstan since 1992 and this year marks the 20th anniversary of its work. This Country Programme Action Plan is the third in the Kyrgyz Republic and considers state policy development, the Millennium Development Goals, ICPD and the assessment of the UNFPA Strategic Plan for 2008-2013.

The plan also reflects the national development objectives outlined in the Country Mid-term Development Strategy for 2012-2014.

The priority for UNFPA in the Kyrgyz Republic for the next five years is to improve maternal health.

The CPAP were signed by the Vice Prime Minister Ms. Asymbekova G. and, Mr. Botev N., UNFPA Country Director for Kyrgyzstan.
