Humanitarian medical donation from the American People to the People of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, April 25 / Kabar /. On April 25, 2012, the U.S. Government, through American charitable organization “Project HOPE”, will make a donation of medical aid valued US$2,116,292 to medical facilities in Bishkek and Chuy, Osh, Jalalabad, Batken regions as well as institutions of the Ministry of Social Development (boarding homes for senior or disabled persons). The press service of the US Embassy in Bishkek reports.  

This humanitarian donation is delivered within the framework of the “Operation Provide Hope” program and contains medicines and supplies generously donated by international pharmaceutical companies such as Allergan, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Becton Dickinson, 3M, Covidien Kendall and Medline.

Over 28,000 Kyrgyz patients will benefit from these medical supplies. About 23,000 patients with various physical disabilities will receive orthopedic items. More than 12,000 patients with arterial hypertension and over 2,500 patients with urinary complications will receive free treatment.

This humanitarian assistance will be delivered according to a distribution plan approved by the Ministry of Health and based on requests from medical facilities.
