UNICEF is concerned about reported cases of violence against children in Belovodskoe special school
Bishkek, May 22 / Kabar /. UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Kyrgyzstan is concerned about reported cases of violence against children in Belovodskoe special school for minors.
Gross violations of children's rights, including numerous cases of beatings and exploitation of children have been revealed during monitoring by NGO "Youth Human Rights Group" and the Institute of Ombudsman, which was held on 16-17 May, 2012 in the framework of the EU and UNICEF project, aimed to facilitate the detection and prevention of torture and ill-treatment of children in conflict with the law.
UNICEF calls on public authorities to conduct an investigation, to protect children and take effective measures to eliminate violence against all children.
