Former Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayva received the international leadership award
Bishkek, June 2 / Kabar /. Former President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva received the international leadership award at the 2012 Global Summit of Women.
The award was presented to R. Otunbayeva by Irene Natividad, president of the Global Summit of Women. "Roza Otunbayeva is an example of recognized leadership in Central Asia and an inspiring example for all women in the world", said I. Natividad, presenting the award.
"I accept this award on behalf of the courageous people of Kyrgyzstan, men and women, young and old, people of various ethnic groups and political persuasions, united by the will to put an end to injustice, to establish the rule of law and build a society of equal opportunity", said Otunbayeva in her speech after receiving the award.
2012 Global Summit of Women, the foremost international economic forum for women leaders in business, government, and civil society. The Summit in Athens (Greece) gathered 1000 women from over 80 countries. the 2012 Global Summit of Women with the theme "Women: The Engine of Economic Growth" focused on the growth areas in the global economy in which women will play a pivotal role.
