92% of older people in Kyrgyzstan live below the poverty line
Bishkek, June 4 / Kabar /. According to data of the Social Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic, 92% of older people live below the poverty line, as they receive pension below the living-wage, which is now equal to 4 thousand 166 soms.
The Coalition of Civic Initiatives on social protection reforming reports that about 50% of all working people employed in the informal sector and do not pay funds to Social Fund.
According to data of the Social Fund, the number of employees paying royalties to the Social Fund, for each retiree is 1.3 people, while on the recommendation of the International Labour Organization (ILO) to preserve the sustainability of the pension system 3 payers of insurance fees is needed for 1 pensioner.
