Kyrgyzstan to host the 7th Annual International Festival of Culture «Oimo-2012»
Bishkek, July 20 / Kabar /.The Seventh International Festival “Oimo - 2012” will be held in Bishkek on July 24-26, 2012 in Bishkek and on July 27 –August 5 in Cholpon-Ata.
According to information of organizers of the event, the goal of the Festival is to support workmanship, international tourism and folk traditions, promote Kyrgyzstan as an area of intercultural dialogue, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between nations.
More than 100 artisans from Central Asia, Turkey, India, Afghanistan, Altai and other countries will display their handicraft products in Cholpon-Ata. Natural silk of Margelan masters, famous Rishtan ceramics from Uzbekistan and interesting ceramic items produced by Kyrgyz potters from Bishkek and Osh, diverse felt items from various oblasts of Kyrgyzstan, silver jewelleries from Kazakhstan, ketene natural fabrics from Turkmenistan, traditional embroideries from Tajikistan and many other handicraft products are very popular among visitors.
Organizers of the Festival are the Central Asian Crafts Support Association’s Resource Centre in Kyrgyzstan (CACSARC-kg), Tolomush Okeyev Foundation, Central Asian Culture and Arts Net and Ministry of Culture and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic.
