International Competition "Manaschy" will be held in Kyrgyzstan for the first time
Bishkek, July 19 / Kabar /. International Competition "Manaschy" (Manas narrators) with a prize fund of one million soms will be held in Kyrgyzstan for the first time. Chairman of the Public Fund "Aitysh" Azamat Bolgonbaev told today at a press conference at Kabar Agency.
He said that, the contest will be different from the previous ones by clear criteria for selecting participants. "The most important requirement for narrators is that they have to narrate excerpts from the epic within two hours without disrupting the chronology of events. The competition is open to Manas narrators over 20 years. Ethnicity and nationality does not matter", said A. Bolgonbaev.
"With this contest we want to develop patriotism, to preserve the national heritage and to spread the idea of Manas, to strengthen the unity of nations in the country", said the Chairman of the Public Fund.
The organizers of the competition are the Public TV "ElTR" and the Public Fund "Aitysh".
