Dostuk checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border function without any restrictions

Bishkek, July 23 / Kabar /. Starting from July 22, 2012 Dostuk checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border allowed citizens and vehicles to cross borders without any restrictions.

According to the Department of Public Relations and Media of Border Troops of the Kyrgyz Republic, these measures have been achieved as a result of negotiations conducted by the border agencies of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

Checkpoint operates every day from 8:00 to 20:00.

Earlier, the Uzbek side imposed restrictions and permitted to enter of Kyrgyz citizens only upon presentation of telegrams with an invitation to Uzbekistan, as well as in transit through the territory of Uzbekistan and in the presence of the air ticket.

These restrictions applied only to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

Third-country nationals could cross the checkpoint without any restrictions.
