Border Troops of the KR to help Kyrgyz journalists to get out from the north-east of Afghanistan where combat operations started
Bishkek, July 26 / Kabar /. The leadership of Border Troops of Kyrgyzstan have been negotiating with their Tajik counterparts to rescue the citizens of Kyrgyzstan, the editor of newspaper "MK-Asia" Ulugbek Babakulov and his partner, a Russian citizen Egemberdi Kabulov from the war zone in Afghanistan. The press service of the Border Troops of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Journalists U. Babakulov and E. Kabulov along with 60 tourists from different countries cannot get out from Ishkashim town of Badakhshan province due to the fact that government forces of Afghanistan started military special operations against the Taliban in the north-east of the country. Thus, journalists are caught between the Taliban and government forces. They have previously contacted the leadership of the Kyrgyz Border Troops asking to undertake security measures to avoid getting into the crossfire.
Now, after the Kyrgyz -Tajik negotiations, the neighbors began bilateral talks with Afghan counterparts to ensure a safe route for two journalists to leave the dangerous areas.
