CSTO commission to discuss draft regulations on military economic cooperation
Draft documents regulating military economic cooperation between the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will be discussed at the ninth session of the Interstate Commission for Military Economic Cooperation of the CSTO member states. The session will take place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 6 October, CSTO Press Secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA.
According to BelTA, a restricted attendance session will be used to discuss results of the work in the last 12 months and to determine ways to advance practical efforts of the commission in the near future. Election of a new chairman of the commission for another three-year term will be discussed next. The plenary session will table draft documents that regulate military economic cooperation between the CSTO member states.
The commission will also discuss the draft agreement on standardizing defense products within the CSTO framework. The document has been developed by Belarus and Russia. The agenda also includes discussions a draft concept of advertising and exhibition activities of the CSTO member states, the schedule of the commission's operation for 2012, and the interstate reference book "Defense industry of the CSTO member states".
Performance of the coordinating council for advertising and exhibition activities at the international arms and materiel expos IDEX 2011, MILEX 2011, MAKS 2011 will be reviewed.
CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov and Alexander Nozdrachev, Chairman of the Business Council under the Commission, will take part in the session of the Commission.
